acute coronary syndrome

Acute coronary syndrome is a heart disease. It is caused by sudden reduction of blood flow to the heart muscles. There is unstable plaque in the coronary arteries, which causes spasm, rupture, hemorrhage and thrombosis. Patients feel chest pain and angina. Many patients may have myocardial infarction or even sudden cardiac death. Treatment in acute phase can use anti-platelet drugs, anticoagulants, beta blockers, nitrates, non-dihydropyridine calcium antagonist, based on comprehensive analysis of patient's conditions.
