Addison's disease

Addison's disease is a disease of inadequate secretion of adrenal hormones. Pigmentation is the main symptom, followed by fatigue, weight loss, gastrointestinal disorder, reduced blood pressure, low blood sugar and severe blurred vision. Severe cases may have shock and coma. Therapy against the causes and hormone replacement therapy are necessary. Currently used drugs include cortisol (such as cortisone, hydrocortisone, prednisone and prednisolone) and aldosterone.
