Everyone experience anxiety occasionally in daily life. However, people with anxiety disorders frequently have excessive worry and fear about many everyday situations. It can be generalized anxiety disorder, anxiety disorder during social events, phobia of specific things, or in younger children, anxiety disorder when separated from parents or caregivers. Selective mutism, a condition that children cannot speak at school but they can speak at home or with friends, is also a form of anxiety disorder. Anxiety disorder can lead to depression or other mental health disorders, insomnia, digestive or bowel problems, headache, or social isolation.
