Aortic dissection

Aortic dissection is an extremely serious vascular disease. The inner layer of the aorta is torn and blood flow into the middle layer of the aorta so that the inner and the outer layers are separated. Real and fake aorta cavities coexist. Sudden onset of severe tearing pain is the most prominent characteristic symptoms of aortic dissection. Without proper and timely treatment, it is very likely the dissection ruptures and patient dies. Treatment plan of acute aortic dissection depends on the location of the tear. For type A aortic dissection, surgery is superior to medical therapy. For type B aortic dissection, medication is better than surgery.
