Aplastic anemia

Aplastic anemia is a blood disease of bone marrow hematopoietic stem cell damage or the hematopoietic microenvironment damage. Symptoms include anemia due to decreased red blood cells, granulocytes and platelets. Anemia can cause infection and bleeding. Bleeding is the most common symptom. Severe bleeding, especially intracranial bleeding, is often life-threatening. Infection is almost inevitable. The severity and mortality of infection depends on the level of granulocytes. Aplastic anemia should be treated as a medical emergency, especially for severe patients. Active treatment measures must be taken immediately. Hematopoietic stem cell transplantation and immunosuppressive agents are known to be effective in treating severe aplastic anemia. They should be adopted as soon as possible.
