Avascular necrosis

Avascular necrosis is a common disease. Avascular necrosis can be caused by various reasons. Blood supply to the femoral head is affected, leading to avascular necrosis and collapse. The disease typically affects the middle-aged. Main symptoms are: hip pain, soreness, joint stiffness and limited mobility, such as intermittent claudication. As the disease progresses, patients have further limitation with hip joint mobility, leg shortening, flexion, adduction contracture deformity, muscle atrophy. Patients may have symptoms and signs of hip semi-dislocation. Avascular necrosis is difficult to treat. Currently treatment plans depend on the disease stage.
