Basal cell carcinoma

Basal cell carcinoma is a type of skin cancer. Men have slightly higher prevalence than women. Incidence increases with age. The onset is very subtle. Patients usually have no obvious skin pain or discomfort. Excessive sunlight, exposure to chemical carcinogens and genetic factors may be the cause of disease. Avoiding sunlight and using sunscreen can help preventing basal cell carcinoma. Surgery is the preferred treatment method. Surgical treatment is suitable for all types of basal cell carcinoma, especially morphea-like basal cell carcinoma, for which, surgical resection is the only option.
