Bile reflux

Bile reflux is a syndrome caused by bile refluxes into the stomach and esophagus.The syndrome is caused by pyloric regurgitation. Many patients have history of gastrectomy or gastrointestinal anastomosis surgeries. Symptoms include persistent burning pain in the upper abdomen, increased pain after eating, vomiting of bile, bloating, and weight loss. To treat bile reflux, you should first try drugs such as cholestyramine and metoclopramide. If they are not effective, surgery can be done.
