Blind loop syndrome

Blind loop syndrome refers to the stagnation of the intestinal contents in the intestine and bacterial overgrowth. It causes diarrhea, anemia, poor absorption and weight loss. Steatorrhea (fatty diarrhea) is a prominent symptom of this disease. Other symptoms include bloating, abdominal pain, vitamin B12 malabsorption, large cell anemia, malnutrition and low calcium blood. Antibiotic treatment of this syndrome is extremely important. Large cell anemia can be treated by intramuscular injection of vitamin B12. If there is abnormal small intestine anatomical structure, it should be surgically corrected.
