Canker sore

Canker sore is superficial ulcers on the oral mucosa. One or more white-yellow round or oval ulcers appear on mucous membrane of patient's lips, tongue, cheeks and palate. As the ulcers are easily touched, you have obvious pain or burning sensation when eating, drinking, brushing teeth, or even speaking. Some patients have recurrent episodes. The mechanism of the disease remains unclear, but this disease may be an autoimmune disease. Most canker sores will heal on their own in 1-2 weeks without leaving scars. Antibacterial mouthwash and painkillers can be used to treat symptoms.
