Cardiogenic shock

Cardiogenic shock is the most common heart disease. It is caused by poor heart contraction. The most common cause of cardiogenic shock is acute myocardial infarction. A small number is due to primary cardiomyopathy. Significant and sustained low blood pressure is a feature of cardiogenic shock. In addition to very low blood pressure, patients often have cold extremities, confusion and other symptoms. In severe cases, it may lead to little or no urine (acute renal failure). The mortality is at 85% -95%.
