Cardiomyopathy

Cardiomyopathy is a disorder of the heart chamber. It is related with virus infection, autoimmune response, genetics, emotion, drug toxicity and metabolic abnormalities. Symptoms include heart chamber enlargement, arrhythmias, shortness of breath after exert, embolism and heart failure. Treatment includes medication, surgically implanted devices or heart transplant. The prognosis of this disease is poor. Many patients die of heart failure and severe arrhythmia.
