Central sleep apnea refers to a condition that there is no nose or mouth airflow and no chest or abdominal breathing movements for more than 10 seconds. This is relative uncommon disease. It is caused by the brain's inability to control breathing rather than airway obstruction. Low volume oxygen flow at night can stabilize the brain area controlling breathing.
