Cervical spondylosis is a common neck disease in the elderly. The basic pathological change of the disease is intervertebral disc degeneration. The incidence increases along with age. Chronic fatigue and trauma are direct factors leading to cervical spondylosis. Symptoms include neck and shoulder pain, which can radiate to back of the head or arms. Serious cases have arm spasm, leg spasms and difficulty walking. A small number of patients have vertigo. Non-surgical treatment is usually effective. Common treatment include medication, physical therapy and traction therapy.
