Chagas disease, acute

Chagas disease is a life-threatening parasite disease spread by triatomine (a bug). Chagas disease was once entirely confined to Central and South America, but it has now spread to other continents. Chagas disease can cause serious heart and digestive problems. Benzyl metronidazole and nifurtimox can be used to kill the parasites. If these two drugs are used in the acute stage, the effectiveness of these two drugs cure the disease is almost 100%. If patients are not treated in time and the disease has entered the chronic phase, only symptomatic treatment can be done and the prognosis is poor.
