Chickenpox

Chickenpox is an acute infectious disease caused by varicella-zoster virus. It is mainly spread by droplets. It is a highly contagious disease and mainly affects pre-school children. Patients have fever and general discomfort. About 1 day after infection, rash appears on the body. It is the most obvious symptom of chickenpox. The rash can be divided into 4 stages: papules, blisters, pustules and crusted pustules. Chickenpox is a mild disease. It usually heals itself within 1-2 weeks. Wounds of some patients may have secondary bacterial infection. The risk of serious complications such as pneumonia and encephalitis is high. If a newborn baby is infected with chickenpox, the condition is more serious and even life-threatening. Chickenpox vaccine is a safe and effective method to prevent chickenpox.
