Intussusception occurs when a section of intestine inserts into neighboring section of intestine, like a telescope. It often makes intestinal content difficult to pass through. Acute intussusception usually affects infants 4-10 months old. The incidence decreases after 2 years old. Symptoms include episode crying, vomiting, abdominen mass, and jam-like bloody stools. Both non-surgery and surgery treatments are used. The method of blowing air into the intestine to restore the intestine position is widely used.
