Claudication is the intermittent pain in legs or arms caused by too little blood flow to your legs or arms usually during sports or exercise. Initially the you feel pain only at excercise. If the condition is severe, you may feel pain even at rest. Claudication is actually a symptom of peripheral artery disease. If blood flow is severely reduced, your toes or fingers may look whitish or bluish and feel cold to touch. Medication include aspirin, clopidogrel (Plavix), dipyridamole (Persantine), ticlopidine, and cilostazol (Pletal) or pentoxifylline (Trental). Surgery options include antioplasty or blood vessel replacement.
