Common cold

Common cold is an upper respiratory tract viral infection disease. Symptoms include nasal congestion, runny nose, sneezing, coughing, sore throat, chills, fever etc. Most of these symptoms are caused by the body's autoimmune response, rather than tissue destruction caused by virus. Most of the symptoms usually disappear within seven to ten days, but some symptoms may last up to three weeks. There is no drug that can shorten the duration of the infection. Treatment can only alleviate the symptoms. These drugs include analgesics and antipyretics.
