Compulsive sexual behavior

Compulsive sexual behavior is sometimes called sexual addiction. The patient has an excessive preoccupation with sexual fantasies, urges or behaviors that is difficult to control. Compulsive sexual behavior causes distress and often negatively affects your health, job or other parts of life. Treatment include psychotherapy and medications such as antidepressants, naltrexone (Vivitrol), mood stabilizers, and antiandrogen hormones. Joining self-help patients groups may also be helpful.
