Congenital heart defects in children are a group of congenital heart diseases the occur to children before they are born. Symptoms of having cngenital heart defects include pale gray or blue color on skin or lips (cyanosis), rapid breathing, edema, and shortness of breath. Treatment include catheterization, open-heart surgey, or even heart transplant. If the conditon is mild, ACE inhibitors, ARBs and beta blockers may help. Long term treatment plan include lifelong monitoring and treatment, restricting exercises, and preventing infection.
