Conversion disorder is also known as the hysterical movement disorder. There are no physical issues while one part of the body loses its function. A common type is the loss of activity of one or more limbs (conversion paralysis). Symptoms can be similar to other disorders such as poor coordination, loss of mobility, loss of speech, poor pronunciation, movement disorder and seizures. Conversion disorders can be triggered by psychological and social factors. When patients begin to understand the cause of the disorder, they will return to normal soon.
