Deep folliculitis

Deep folliculitis is a skin condition that the deep part of hair follicles become inflammed. It is usually caused by bacteria or fungus infection. It can be itching and sore. Severe infections can cause a large swollen painful bump or mass. It can often be treated with antibiotic or antifungal creams or pills. For large boil or carbuncle, the doctor may make a small cut in it to drain the pus.
