Dengue fever

Dengue fever is a mosquito-borne acute infectious disease that occurs in tropical and subtropical regions. Clinical features include: high fever, rash, severe headache, pain behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain. Severe dengue fever, also known as dengue hemorrhagic fever, may cause severe bleeding and death. There is no specific treatment for Dengue fever yet. Dengue fever is usually self-limiting and self-healing. Therapy can help relieve the symptoms. Dengue hemorrhagic fever patients shall receive timely supportive therapy. The main purpose of treatment is to maintain the normal operation of the blood circulation system. Preventive measures focus on killing and controlling mosquitos.
