Deviated septum

Deviated septum is a condition that the nasal septum deviates from the midline. It causes nasal cavity and paranasal sinuses malformation and dysfunction. If a deviated septum patient also suffers from acute rhinitis, nasal congestion will be heavier and rehabilitation is more difficult. Severe stuffy nose patients may have reduced sense of smell. Deviated septum blocks one side of the nose and reduces airflow, leading to difficulty breathing. It may also cause nose bleeding and other symptoms. In fact, most people have varying degrees of nasal septum deviation. Mild cases do not need treatment. For severe cases, surgery is the only option.
