Disorganized schizophrenia

Disorganized schizophrenia is also called youth schizophrenia. It is a common type of severe schizophrenia. The disease usually frequently occurs in adolescence. The onset is acute and it progresses very fast. The condition can be very severe after a short period of time. Common symptoms include hallucinations, delusions and nonsense talk. Severe cases may have tendency of self-injury or harming others. Spontaneous remission of the disease is rare, but the effect of treatment is good. Drug therapy is the primary method, supplemented by psychotherapy. Chlorpromazine is a central dopamine receptor blocker. It can rapidly control the manic symptoms, reduce hallucinations or delusions, and restore the thoughts and behaviors.
