Drug allergy

Drug allergy is abnormal reaction to medication. Symptoms include skin flushing, rashes, itching, heart palpitations, breathing difficulties, severe shock or even death. Theoretically, any drug can cause allergies. The most common drugs causing drug allergies include penicillin, aminopyrine, barbiturates, furazolidone, serum products and heavy metal salts. Mild drug allergy can be relieved if you stop using the drug. For more severe drug allergy, anti-histamine drugs should be used. If drug allergy is associated with serious responses such as decreased blood pressure, asthma, coma, patients should seek emergency medical care.
