Enterocele

Enterocele is also called small bowel prolapse. It is a condition that one piece of small bowel descends into the lower pelvic cavity and pushes at the top part of vagina. It can be felt in the vagina as a bulge. Symptoms include a pulling sensation in your pelvis when you stand, feeling of pelvic fullness, pressure or pain, a soft bulge in vagina, and vaginal discomfort. If there is no or little symptoms, you can just take some simple self-care measures such as Kegels exercise to strengthen pelvic muscles. For more severe patints, a pessary is need to insert into vagina to support the bulging tissue. More severe cases may need surgery to move the small intestine back and tighten the pelvic floor.
