Testicle pain and swelling are the most common symptoms of epididymitis. Epididymal inflammation can affect sperm maturation and decrease its fertility. Inflammation can also cause blockage of the epididymis tube, lowering the sperm output. Both these two effects can cause infertility. If patients are treated in time, prognosis is good. Otherwise it can develop into abscess, leading to serious destruction of the epididymis tissues.
