Esophageal varices

Esophageal varices are caused by blood flows back in the veins.  Blood back flow in vein in any part of the body can cause esophageal varices. When esophagus varices burst, the most prominent symptom is vomiting blood. The onset is often sudden. Fresh red blood bursts out. The main treatment is injecting esophageal vein hardener or surgery to divert blood flow. Patients with esophageal varices should have soft and half-solid food diet to avoid vein rupture. Most esophageal patients suffer from severe liver disease. If cirrhosis patients suddenly vomit blood or have black stool, they should see a doctor.
