Primary thrombocythemia is a disease that bone marrow produces too many blood platelets. Symptoms include headache, dizziness, vision change, tingling or burning pain, hand numbness, and foot numbness. About half of the patients can have enlarged spleen. If there are no symptoms, usually you do not need treatment. If there are blood clotting problems or bleeding symptoms, medication is needed.
