Familial Mediterranean fever

Familial Mediterranean fever is a genetic disease, which usually occurs in people of Mediterranean origin. Other ethnic groups can be affected too. It usually starts from childhood. Fever is the main symptoms of the disease. Fever usually lasts 1 to 3 days. Patients may have peritonitis symptoms. There is no cure for this disease yet, but the symptoms can be relieved with treatment.
