Frostbite

When the skin temperature drops to -2 C (minus 2 celsius) or 28 F, frostbite may occur. Frostbite usually occurs in the exposed parts of the body, such as fingers, toes, nose, ears, cheeks and chin. The degree of damage is directly related to temperature and duration of exposure. Mild frostbite irritates the skin, but does not cause permanent damage. You can slowly warm up the skin and restore blood circulation by warm water. Severe frostbite damages the skin, muscle and bone tissues. It may further lead to infection and nerve damage, so you need to see a doctor.
