Gastroparesis

Gastroparesis syndrome refers to a group of clinical symptoms characterized by delayed gastric emptying. Under normal circumstances, strong muscle contractions can push food through the digestive tract. If you have gastric motor dysfunction (gastroparesis), it will cause extreme delay in gastric emptying. The stomach cannot empty normally. It will affect digestion and cause symptoms such as nausea, vomiting, low blood sugar and malnutrition. Changes in diet can improve the signs and symptoms of gastroparesis. Medication may provide some relief, but some may cause serious side effects.
