Gynecomastia (enlarged breasts in men)

Gynecomastia (guy-nuh-koh-MAS-tee-uh) is swelling of the breast tissue in boys or men, caused by an imbalance of the hormones estrogen and testosterone. Symptoms include swollen and tender breast tissues. Most Gynecomastia cases regress on its own over time. Treatment first aims at solving the underlying causes. If there is no apparent cause, you usually need periodic evaluation every three to six months.
