Hand-foot-mouth disease is a childhood infectious disease caused by Coxsackie virus. Clinical symptoms include herpes on hand, foot and oral mucus. The herpes are painful. A small number of children develop myocarditis, pulmonary edema and aseptic meningoencephalitis. There is no specific treatment method. Prevention measures include washing hands, drinking water, avoid eating uncooked food, and avoid crowded places.
