Hypoglycemia is a condition of abnormally low level of blood sugar. It is commonly assiciated with diabetes treatment. However, a variety of conditions can also cause hypoglycemia. Symptoms of hypoglycemia include heart palpitations, fatigue, anxiety, sweating, hunger, and irritability. Severely low blood sugar level can cause confusion, blurred vision, seizures, or even loss of consciousness. The treatment involves immediately raising blood sugar level (taking candy, fruit juice, glucose tablets), and treating underlying conditions later.
