Hypopituitarism

Hypopituitarism is a condition that your pituitary gland in the brain does not produce enough hormones. Symptoms include fatigue, weight loss, decreased sex drive, sensitivity to cold, decreased appetite, anemia and infertility. If the patient is child, he or she may have short stature because of insufficient growth hormone in the body. Hormone replacement medication is often the first step of treatment. Hormone replacement medications include corticosteroids such as hydrocortisone or prednisone, levothyroxine, sex hormones and growth hormones.
