Ichthyosis vulgaris

Ichthyosis vulgaris is a hereditary skin disease. Symptoms include skin hyperkeratosis, dryness, scaly and chapped skin. Patients generally do not have any discomfort. Sometimes patients have itching or pain, which often aggravates in winter. It is a chronic disease and treatment is difficult. Treatment usually aims at relieving symptoms.
