Inguinal hernia, commonly known as hernia, occurs when internal organs of abdomen cavity protrude out through defects of groin area. The protrusion may be painful. Inguinal hernia itself is not necessarily dangerous. However, if the protruding organs cannot retract, it can lead to intestinal obstruction, intestinal necrosis or intestinal perforation, which is life-threatening. Treatment includes conservative treatment and surgical treatment.
