Interstitial cystitis

Interstitial cystitis is a chronic disease. It is also known as painful bladder syndrome. The disease cannot be detected by urine analysis. It is more common in female than male. Interstitial cystitis causes pelvic discomfort, pressure, tenderness, or intense pain at bladder and surrounding area. Symptoms may also include urgent urination and frequent urination. For female patients, symptoms may be worse during menstrual period. A variety of drugs and treatments can successfully relieve the symptoms, but it may recur later.
