Kaposi sarcoma

Kaposi sarcoma ia a rare tumor caused by infection of human herpesvirus 8 (HHV8). Kaposi sarcoma can affect the skin, mucous membrane inside the mouth, throat, or nose, or internal organs. It often affects HIV/AIDS patients. Kaposi Sarcoma lesions are nodules or blotches with colors such as red, purple, brown, or black. Kaposi sarcoma is not curable, but can be treated using radiation therapy, cryosurgery, or chemotherapy.
