Keratoconus is a disorder of the eye that results in progressive thinnning of the cornea (the transparent front part of eye). The cornea bulges out, causing blurred vision, double vision, and sentivitity to light. Usually both eyes are affected. In most cases eyesignt can be corrected using glasses or soft contact lenses. Later on, right contact lenses are needed. Many specialized types of contact lenses have been developed for keratoconus. Most severe cases requires cornea transplant.
