Keratosis pilaris is a common skin disease. You will see hard papules with size of a needle tip along pores. There is light brown plug containing curly hair on top of the papules. The disease is common in young people, occurring in upper arm, outside of laps and hip. It is primarily a cosmetic issue. Occasionally it is itching. It will cause follicular pustules in a small percentage of patients. Keratosis pilaris usually disappears before age of 30 and it does not have long-term health effects.
