Krabbe disease is a genetic disease affecting the central nervous system. It occurs in infants and young children. Symptoms include mental retardation, blindness, deafness, lung infections, and frequent falls. This disease is often fatal. There is no satisfactory treatment for Krabbe disease yet. Treatment aims at relieving symptoms.
