Lead poisoning

Lead poisoning is poisoning caused by exposure to lead or its compounds. Its symptoms include colic, anemia and muscle paralysis. Children under 6 years old are particularly at risk. Lead can severely affect mental and physical development of young children. In severe cases, lead poisoning can cause death. If children's blood lead level exceeds 10 micrograms per cubic decimeter, they should be treated.
