Hypogonadism means low function of sexual glands (testicles). Main symptoms of male hypogonadism are decreased frequency of sexual impulses and sexual dysfunction. As age increases, secretion of male hormone (testosterone) decreases, so is the sexual function. However, sexual dysfunction is not only caused by decreased sex hormone secretion, psychological factors such as stress, anxiety and fear also play an important role. For certain types of male sexual dysfunction, testosterone replacement therapy is effective.
