Measles

Measles is a highly contagious disease caused by the measles virus. It usually starts with fever (often high fever), cough, runny nose and red eyes. A red flat rash then starts on the face then spreads to the rest of the body within 3-5 days after the initial symptoms. Most people with uncomplicated measles will recover with rest and supportive treatment, such as using ibuprofen or paracetamol to reduce fever and pain, or medication to dilate the airway to relieve cough.
