Melanoma under a nail

Melanoma is the most serious form of skin cancers. It most often occurs in lower legs and feet, followed by trunk, head, neck and arms. It can grow under a nail too. You will see there is some dark stuff growing under a nail. As disease develops, the damage gets larger. In late stage, it can spread to lungs, liver, bone and brain via blood stream. Melanoma spreads rapidly and it has a high mortality. Melanoma can be successfully treated if it is diagnosed and treated timely. Currently the only effective treatment method is surgical resection of the tumor.
