Membranous nephropathy

Membranous nephropathy is also known as membranous glomerulonephritis. Initially patients may have no symptoms. Laboratory test can find protein in urine. About 80% patients notice the diseases because of edema. Generally there is no visible blood in urine. Kidney vein thrombosis is a common complication. Ultimately the disease will lead to kidney failure. Although there is no cure yet, aggressive treatment can slow the progression of the disease. For those with severe protein urine, early immunosuppressive therapy may be necessary in order to reduce protein urine, reduce complications and delay deterioration of renal function..
